opmnctl status Fails With "java: Symbol JLI_MemAlloc, Version SUNWprivate_1.1 Not Defined In File" (Doc ID 2150476.1)

Symptoms

The opmnctl start and stop work, and it appears from the logs or Fusion Middleware Control that the system component(s) managed by opmn are up.  Only the status option of opmnctl gives the following message when running:


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Try getting opmn managed process status with opmnctl status. The error occurs immediately.

2. Check the status of the opmn managed components in Fusion Middleware Control or via log files and see that they are up and running.
