Attributes Not Saved Correctly When Multiple 11g ODSM Tabs Are Open (Doc ID 2155598.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 20, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version 11.1.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Attributes not saved correctly when multiple tabs are open in Oracle Directory Services Manager (ODSM) 11g, causing users/entries to have the wrong attribute values.

For example, start ODSM with a web browser which supports tabbed browsing, and:

1. Open user1 in tab1
2. Open user2 in tab2
3. Change an attribute on user1 and save.
  a. No changes saved to user1 attributes.
  b. User2's attributes are updated with all data from user1.

This behavior is seen with browsers from different manufacturers.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Open ODSM in multiple tabs in same browser.
2. Update the attributes through ODSM in tab1.
3. Open tab2 and refresh.

When you connect to the ODSM and open two tabs, where user 1 in tab1 and user 2 in tab2 (opening tab 2 and user 2 after opening tab1), modify attribute information in tab 1 and save it.

Though modifying information for user1 and clicking on Apply, it actually shows that user 2 is modified and you can see the DN of user 2 modified just above the confirmation dialogue.
