Last updated on JUNE 30, 2017

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

No 12.2.1 option while creating weblogic-application.xml in JDev 12.2.1
In previous JDeveloper 12c versions the wizard does not include the option to create a descriptor for the "current" version of WLS

JDeveloper Version Weblogic versions available for weblogic-application.xml creation
12.1.2.0.0 12.1.1, 10.3.6, 10.3.4, 10.3.3, 10.3.1
12.1.3.0.0 12.1.2, 12.1.1, 10.3.6, 10.3.4, 10.3.3, 10.3.1
12.2.1.0.0 12.1.3, 12.1.2, 12.1.1, 10.3.6, 10.3.4, 10.3.3, 10.3.1
12.2.1.1.0 12.1.3, 12.1.2, 12.1.1, 10.3.6, 10.3.4, 10.3.3, 10.3.1
12.2.1.2.0 12.1.3, 12.1.2, 12.1.1, 10.3.6, 10.3.4, 10.3.3, 10.3.1

A 12.1.3 descriptor might be used in WLS 12.2.1, but it will not be able to include the latest changes in its structure.

STEPS
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Open a Fusion Web application
2. From the Menu select New
3. Select Deployment Descriptor in the General category, and then Weblogic Deployment descriptor
4. From the list that shows up select weblogic-application.xml and click Next
5. In the list of versions that shows up, no 12.2.1 version appears
