Node Manager " no cipher suites in common" (Doc ID 2159375.1)

Weblogic Server 10.3.3 with JDK 1.6.0_111 has been running for years. However, after renewing the certificates as well as the jks file the Admin Server is not able to connect to Node Manager. The Admin Console -> Machines -> Node Manager Monitoring tab shows that 'Status: Inactive, SSLException.' Meanwhile, the Node Manager raised an SSLHandshakeException. The error persists even when JSSE is enabled.
