Exalogic Virtual Rack In Frozen State With EMOC Control & Guest vServers Not Accessible Via SSH & Xm Consoles (Doc ID 2164186.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 14, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 2.0.6.0.0 and later
Linux x86-64
Oracle Virtual Server x86-64

Symptoms

In Exalogic Virtual racks, issue of complete virtual rack being frozen is observed, where we are unable to access EMOC Control & Guest vServers using SSH and xm console.

However login to Compute Nodes, Storage Heads, IB Switches and ILOMs works fine without any issues.

But EMOC Control and Guest vServers are not pingable on any network and xm console to login to Control & guest vServers hangs. Even accessing the EMOC and OVMM BUI consoles does not work.

At the time of the issue it may be intermittently observed that the NFS shares are not mounted on the Compute nodes.

Rebooting the Compute Nodes or IB Switches will not fix this issue.

However restarting the NFS service on the active ZFS head or doing failover of ZFS heads helps recover from this issue.
