WebCenter Content (WCC) Desktop Integration Suite (DIS) Error when Attempting 'Save As New' in Office After Applying 11.1.1.8 Bundle Patch 15 (Doc ID 2165665.1)

Symptoms

WebCenter Content Server (WCC) version 11.1.1.8.0 Bundle Patch 15, Desktop Integration Suite client version 12..1.1023.

Attempt to overwrite an existing WCC content item with a newly creating local Word document finds the only option available (enabled) 'Save as New'.  Executing the 'Save as New' option results in an in a blank error log dialog presented to user.  In log file error:
