After User's Session Expired, User Does Not Redirect To Desired Login Page (Doc ID 2167619.1)

Last updated on APRIL 06, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.8.7 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On WCP 11.1.1.8.7 version.

Implemented integration of Ping Identity Single Sign On with WebLogic.

This integration has been done with the support of basic SAML 2.0 assertion where WebLogic is acting as service provider. Session time out is set in WebLogic for 30 mins, and the same duration is set in Ping Identity for a specific session.  After 30 minutes when Adf throws a popup saying "session expired click ok", on clicking OK button the system redirects the user to authenticated home page/landing page of application.

In the ideal scenario, the Ping login page should appear which asks user to authenticate again. But in this case, the request does not go to Ping after session expires. It has been noticed that after 1 hour, system is acting as expected, user gets redirected to Ping Login page for authentication.
