This article is useful for any customers running the following Outside In products/components on UNIX:
- Viewer Technology
- HTML Export
- Image Export
- XML Export (if vector graphics are being generated, in addition to XML output)
- Search Export (PageML only)
The following products do NOT use X server and therefore do NOT apply to this article:
- PDF Export
- Web View Export
- Content Access
- Search Export (unless using PageML)
This article is NOT applicable to Windows users.
Purpose
The purpose of this note is to guide users who are experiencing X server issues through troubleshooting tasks. The key point of the previous sentence is "troubleshooting". This guide is not a definitive reference for installing, configuring or administering an X server in general.
Scope
X server administration is a UNIX administration task. As such, the scope of this article is not to replace basic understanding and X server experience. It is expected a knowledgeable UNIX system administrator is reading and using these troubleshooting steps.
