ODI 11g startloadplan.sh (.bat) Does Not Wait for Completion of the Load Plan Before Returning to Prompt

Symptoms
The Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 11g "startloadplan.sh(.bat)" scripts invokes the Load Plan before passing the request to the specified Agent. It then returns back to the prompt and marks as completed before executing the actual steps contained in the load plan which are running one-by-one in the background.
Instead, the command should wait until execution has been completed. That way if there was an error and the execution did not finish, it would show on the prompt.
