Enterprise Capture Metadata Values Populated from a Database Lookup are Overwritten by Choice List Values

Symptoms
When entering fields into a Capture profile from the Capture client, the State field is cleared in certain scenarios. The information is populated from a database lookup. Initially the State field is correct, however after using tab or enter, the State field is cleared after leaving the Country field.
The database lookup searches for the Customer Name and returns Country, City and State. The Database lookup is working fine. There is also a Dependent Choice list set up in the client profile. The State choice list that the users see is dependent on the Country value.
After running the Database search the fields are populates but when you tab through the fields when you get to Country it clears out the State value from the Database look up.
