WebLogic Server: Authentication Failures When Attempting to Access Web Application with Custom Security (Doc ID 2178771.1)

Symptoms

The scenario is that a customer has an application where users are authenticated via LDAP in their custom application, which in turn is an AD user.

The problem is that while accessing the application login, AD users are getting validated by the WebLogic Server security framework/authentication module first.  This causes the authentication to fail.  Note that the customer's application has basic authentication configured for his application and an unsecured resources in his DD security model.
