Can't Set User Login To Be Case Insensitive From IOS Mobile App0- Fails To Find User In OAAM

We have set the following OAAM property as recommended to allow for the user login to be case insensitive:

This works as expected for our Desktop login, but when we login from the Mobile App using the iOS Mobile SDK, we must enter the userid in the same case (lower) as it is in the OAAM server. It appears that this properly does not apply to the Mobile App integration.
