Last updated on MAY 14, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version 11.1.1.9.0 to 11.1.1.9.0 [Release 11g]
Oracle Fusion Middleware - Version 11.1.1.9.0 to 11.1.1.9.0 [Release Oracle11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

What are the minimum Operating System (OS) memory, cpu, space, heap and other related requirements for Oracle Internet Directory (OID) and Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD) 11g 11.1.1.9 latest version to support millions of users?

The OID documentation redirects to the Tuning Guide which then redirects to System Requirements guide below for sizing and capacity planning:
   Oracle® Fusion Middleware System Requirements and Specifications 11g Release 1 (11.1.1) E18558-02

However, this guide only includes minimum requirements and it is missing sizing and capacity planning hardware and OS requirements for large implementations.

For example, under Section 6, "System Requirements for UNIX Operating Systems", it does not address the following questions:

1. What are the CPU, memory, Heap size and disk space requirements for OID and OVD to support (?) Millions or more accounts in OID?
2. Will these recommendations change if there are multiple OID and OVD nodes?
