ESSO 11g: Windows Clients Are Asked To Enter LAN Password For ESSO, and Users Cannot Add / Modify / Reveal Any Passwords or Applications and Authentication Type Getting Changed to Windows Logon Automatically. (Doc ID 2189575.1)

Symptoms

This was observed on Oracle ESSO 11.1.2.2.0, but may apply to other versions.

+. Users cannot add / modify / revel any passwords or applications.
+. When the user enters In the LAN password for validation, it comes back with wrong password.

Noticed 2 things

1. When you open SSO, it takes like about 1 - 2 minutes to populate the application templates.
2. If you then click settings and check the "Authentication Type" it lists "Windows Logon" and we can not change it

+. The working clients don't see the above issues, and the authentication is set to "Windows Logon v2"
+. This issues is spreading on more users/machines and are reporting it every day.

Changes

 Microsoft MS16-101 patch was installed.
