Purpose
This document describes the configuration and operational steps to support Oracle Data Guard role transitions of an Oracle GoldenGate database when using Oracle ASM Clustered File System (ACFS) as the shared file system.
Scope
The intended audience for this note is Oracle GoldenGate and Database administrators that wish to configure Oracle GoldenGate with Data Guard, using ACFS as the file system to share GoldenGate files between the the Data Guard primary and standby hosts.
It is assumed the audience is familiar with Oracle Data Guard and Oracle GoldenGate. It is also assumed the GoldenGate database is already configured with Oracle Data Guard. The overall solution is similar to Transparent Role Transitions with Oracle Data Guard and Oracle GoldenGate, but ACFS is leveraged instead of DBFS.
The configuration and operational steps included in this note have been validated on Linux, but should be generally applicable wherever Oracle GoldenGate and ACFS are supported.
