Enterprise Capture Database Lookup Fails to Return Records in some Cases "%FE", "%CE", "O'D%", "%O%'%D" (Doc ID 2201469.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 22, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Enterprise Capture - Version 11.1.1.9.0 to 11.1.1.9.0 [Release 11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When performing a database lookup in the Enterprise Capture client version 12.2.1.1.0, there are certain search strings that will not return any records even though the same search in SQL Developer on that column will return records. Some examples of the behavior are searching on the column that contains a record with value "FEED". Performing the searches below in Enterprise Capture:

"F%" returns the value.
"FE%" returns the value.
"%F%" returns the value
"%F" - returns the value

"þ%" - fails to return any values
"þ" - fails to return any values

In another case when attempting to search for a record with value "O'Driscoll" where the apostrophe character is included in the search string fails:

"O%" - returns the value

"%O%’" - fails to return any values

"%O'D%" - fails to return any values

"%O%'%D" - fails to return any values
