OID 11g Slow Performance or Hangs from ldapsearch on Large Groups (Doc ID 2215090.1)

Ldapsearch against OID large groups with entrycache enabled results in slow performance or hangs. For example:

OID group contains 5 million entries

time $ORACLE_HOME/bin/ldapsearch -h oidhostname.domain -p 3131 -U1 -D "cn=orcladmin" -w <password> "cn=groupname" dn

real    4m10.089s
user    0m0.013s
sys     0m0.013s

Disabling entrycache results in acceptable performance:

real 0m0.316s
user 0m0.027s
sys 0m0.066s
