Symptoms
Applications with jsf 2.1.6 deploys fine, but throws error while running in WebLogic server 12.2.1.0.0
There is a flag in the deployment weblogic.xml file (prefer-web-inf-classes=true ) that is supposed to prevent this (and does on WebLogic 10.3.5 and 10.3.6). Same setting no longer works in this version of WebLogic
