Symptoms
After setting 'Principal equals case insensitive' to true via wl console the following error occurs when starting the managed server in WebLogic Server 12.1.3

Enabling the Principal Equals Case Insensitive
Login into WLS console>>Domain name >>Security>>general>>Advance>>Principal Equals Case Insensitive
