Last updated on JANUARY 12, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version 11.1.1.9.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When a post_bind server plug-in is enabled, the Oracle Internet Directory (OID) LDAP server process crashes with SIGSEGV when executing a bind operation with invalid DN, e.g.;
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/ldapbind -h localhost -p 3060 -D test -w ******
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/ldapbind -h localhost -p 3060 -D "oracle,cn=users,dc=jp,dc=oracle,dc=com" -w ******

The OID LDAP server log (oidldapd{nn}s{PID}-{nnnn}.log) shows that the server received signal 11 (SIGSEGV);
