JSP Syntax Errors Not Shown In WLP OEPE (Doc ID 2222663.1)

Symptoms

In WLP 10.3.6 , The OEPE does not show the Syntax errors for the Java code embedded in the JSP Scriptlets of the JSP File

Example:

If the following JSP Scriptlet is added to the Java Code in the JSP file of a WLP Web Project

In the below screenshot it can be observed that there is no Syntax Error seen for missing semicolon

 

 

But if the same Java code is added to a JSP file as part of the Dynamic Web Project in OEPE , the Syntax Errors are shown for the missing semicolon as seen in the below screenshot
