Last updated on SEPTEMBER 18, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Service Architecture Leveraging Tuxedo (SALT) - Version 12.2.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The purpose of this document is to show how to create a PKCS 12 based wallet from certificate chain and private key to be used by Oracle Service Architecture Leveraging Tuxedo (SALT) 12.2.2.

While trying to run the secsapp sample, for Service Architecture Leveraging Tuxedo (SALT) 12.2.2.0, user encountered the following error in the Tuxedo ULOG:

GWWS_CAT:103: ERROR: Cannot setup SSL context

Due to the above error user could not get Tuxedo GWWS server to boot in the $TUXDIR/samples/salt/secsapp example.
The cause is Tuxedo switched to use PKCS12 based wallet since Tuxedo 12.1.1.
The wallet requires to contain a valid certificate chain. It can not use a self-signed certificate only. This sample only provide method to create self-singed certificate.
Without issue certificate chain present in the wallet, the GWWS SSL will fail looking for certificate chain for the issuer.
