Does OVD 11g Support Kerberos Token for Client Authentication? (Doc ID 2229791.1)

Last updated on MARCH 30, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Virtual Directory - Version 11.1.1.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

It is understood from the Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD) 11g Admin Guide that OVD can use Kerberos to perform authentication to an Microsoft (MS) Active Directory (AD) LDAP server backend, i.e., via an AD LDAP adapter. Reference:

Fusion Middleware Administrator's Guide for Oracle Virtual Directory
Chapter 12 Creating and Configuring Oracle Virtual Directory Adapters

But can OVD accept a Kerberos token and use that for its authentication?

The Guide does not explicitly state that OVD will accept a kerberos token; and most configurations outlined are from  the OVD server point to the backend only.
