The Best Way To Increase Server Dynamically (Doc ID 2230658.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 09, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Tuxedo - Version 10.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Background:

User has a 24X7 availability configuration in his tuxedo configuration and for this he has 2 sets of tuxedo accounts.
During the end of the day, that is the time when user switches between the 2 tuxedo sets, user has both sets up at the same time.

However, this causes a very high number of DB connections which are almost reaching the Maximum.
In order to reduce the number of DB connections during the this time, user wants to boot minimum number of servers and then change MIN value Dynamically and boot rest of servers.

User is using the Load balancing feature of tuxedo, but does not want to rely on this as the load balancing will only happen when there are queues and user does not want to have any queues.

Goal:

The goal is to answer the following questions:

Are there any problems using this method?  Are there better ways to do this?
