Goal

BACKGROUND: We are seeking some opinion from Oracle GoldneGate team to know that can GoldneGate is viable product to use for large SOA messaging ( from DB to web service) and how much load it can handle. Current Architecture and Limitation : We are managing a very large database ( around 10TB) and it sends a large amount of transactions ( say peak load/escalation more than 1000 SRS – service request per second) to a web service. Outgoing messages are queued and database scheduler is used to send data to Web service through oracle utility UTL_HTTP. We have been working with Oracle to handle this load and Oracle has been very helpful and provided us some patch specific to our database to handle scheduler load, but Oracle also acknowledge the imitation of scheduler at database level. Alternative Solution : We are looking some alternative viable solution to handle this load ( 1000 SRS), our middle tier and development team will have to come up with some solution but as a large data is involved and we may assess if implementing this solution at database level is more suitable and scalable then implementing at middle tier ( WS to WS) We want to know from Oracle GoldenGate team that JSM and API of GoldenGate can handle this load.
