Symptoms

Problem
SQL Developer Hangs due to GC (Garbage Collector) overhead limit exceeded error.

Using SQL Developer to pull back 650k rows. Run the query in a single tab, the query returns all 650k rows. When open another tab and run the query, SQL Developer starts to hang and eventually comes back with a GC overhead limit exceeded error. When open a new SQL Developer instance/application and run the query, it runs the query successfully and returns all 650k rows. This also occurs when running the query under a user ID with DBA privileges.

Error
