Group Search Results Are Cached In Override Security And May Prevent Update

Symptoms
Group Search breaks when one first searches for a group within one management area of a Portal and then attempts to perform a group search in a different management area of the Portal.
Example:
Execute a group search within the Portal Members area.
Navigate to a page properties area for a page within the portal and select Override Security.
Attempt to perform a search for a group to grant access to the page.
The groups from the search at the Portal level are displayed and you cannot enter a new search.
