Alter Extract To A Timestamp Isn't Working Correctly For GoldenGate For DB2/zOS 12.1.2.1.5 (Doc ID 2239348.1)

Last updated on APRIL 09, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle GoldenGate - Version 12.1.2.1.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When we stop the Z/OS extract and alter back to a timestamp (example....alter extract name BEGIN 2016-01-10 08:00:00") and restart it, it appears to be running except that the checkpoint RBA doesn't appear correct. If you execute a "send extract_name status" command the read checkpoint it moving but the extract isn't capturing any operations.

If we delete and re-add the extract with the same timestamp, it's able to locate the correct spot in the log, the LSN that gets updated appears in the correct format and the extract captures operations as expected.
