SAP Adapter fails with XMLParseException after migrating to 12c (Doc ID 2240127.1)

Symptoms

Sap adapter services upgraded from iWay to 12c. When the date has a null value, the error below is seen

Caused by: oracle.tip.adapter.sa.impl.fw.ext.org.collaxa.thirdparty.apache.wsif.WSIFException: servicebus:/xxxx ] - WSIF JCA Execute of operation 'xxx failed due to: oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParseException; lineNumber: 2; columnNumber: 16; Invalid text '' in element: 'XYZ';

 The problem is gone after recreating the SAP Adapter reference using the adapter wizard on 12c JDEV.
