Goal

This document provides the steps on how to manually remove a patch applied to Oracle WebLogic Server using the Smart Update utility.

These steps can be used if removing a patch is failing. This can happen for example when the Smart Update cache_dir is not used as expected.

Usually, troubleshooting can make it possible to use Smart Update as expected, (with other manual adjustments), but in some situations the best recourse is to manually remove the problematic patch.
