Contents From All Folders Move to One Folder When Portal Access Setting is Changed (Doc ID 2242829.1)

Symptoms

Contents of all folders in the Document Explorer move to one folder as soon as the security setting of the Portal is change, i.e., a Private Portal is made Public or vice versa.

Changes

  1. Create a new Private Portal or Administer an existing Portal and make it Private.
  2. Enable Documents service
  3. Navigate to Document Explorer and create three Folders (F1,F2,F3). Upload at least one file to each of the folders. Example:
    <PortalRoot>
    - F1
       --File1
    - F2
       --File2
    - F3
       --File3
  4. Administer Portal again. Grant public access to Portal.
  5. Navigate back to Document Explorer and notice all the files are now in one folder. Example:
    <PortalRoot>
    - F1
       --File1
       --File2
       --File3
    - F2
    - F3
