Updating ODI Object with Standard/Legacy Import Using "Synonym UPDATE" While Successful, There Is No Actual Modification or Some Information Is Missing (Doc ID 2248830.1)

Symptoms

When importing an Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) object that was modified using standard / legacy import, i.e. a Procedure, the Procedure is not actually modified even though the import log report states that the import was successful and the time stamp in database table changes.

The import mode used was synonym UPDATE.

Further investigation shows that records that were not empty before making the update show the modification, and only empty fields don't show an update.
