Wrong Execution Order When a Reusable Mapping is Used More Than Once in an ODI Mapping (Doc ID 2252029.1)

Last updated on JUNE 16, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Data Integrator - Version 12.2.1.1.0 to 12.2.1.2.8 [Release 12c]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12.2.1.1.0 version, when a Mapping contains a Reusable Mapping (RMC) more than once, the actual execution order is not following the order specified in "Target Order" dialog.

Instead, the Reusable Mapping seems to somehow be bundled and executed sequentially.

The execution order should be as specified in the "target order" property.

Note the issue still arises after having applied <Patch 25306657> - Target Load Order Dialog doesn't include Reusable Mapping as Available Target

To reproduce the behavior:

  1. Create a Reusable Mapping.
  2. Create a Mapping, and make use of the Reusable Mapping in at least two different steps
  3. Select the order in the "target order" dialog.
  4. Notice the execution order in the Session log.
