SOA12c Purge In Infinite Loop When Temp_flowid_purge Pruned Empty (Doc ID 2254843.1)

Symptoms

The SOA 12c purge runs into an infinite loop when the records in the table temp_flowid_purge are pruned empty

10-NOV-2016 03:32:01 : stoptime = 10/NOV/2016:03/32
10-NOV-2016 03:32:01 : loop count = 1774
10-NOV-2016 03:32:01 : deleting instances
10-NOV-2016 03:32:01 Number of rows in table temp_flowid_purge Inserted = 346
10-NOV-2016 03:32:02 Number of rows in table temp_flowid_purge Correlated flows pruned = 346

this results in 0 records left in table temp_flowid_purge and purge should be stopped, hence there are no flows left to delete.
