Upgrade Oracle Fusion Middleware Infrastructure to the 220.127.116.11
As the Upgrade Guide clearly states, "If you are upgrading from a previous 12c release (18.104.22.168, 22.214.171.124 or 126.96.36.199), then you must install the 12c (188.8.131.52) distributions into a new Oracle home. Do not attempt to reuse the existing Oracle home for this upgrade. Upgrading to 12c (184.108.40.206) is not a patch release."
Also from Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c Release 2 (12.2) Announcements (Doc ID 2067900.1)
“ This is a full installation with an out-of-place upgrade from previous releases. This does not update existing installations. “
So it is required to install the 220.127.116.11 in a new Oracle home.
However after completing the upgrade process successfully , is it required to maintain 2 Oracle Homes OR deinstall the older Oracle home (18.104.22.168, 22.214.171.124 or 126.96.36.199) and if so what is the procedure to do so?
