OID Binds to SSL Port Hangs After Server Reboot / OID Crashes, Restarts or Becomes Unresponsive / Stops Responding Intermittently. DIP Fails to Start and Synchronize. (Doc ID 2259181.1)

Symptoms

Symptom 1

OID SSL Port hangs after the server was rebooted.

No errors; the ldapbind command just hangs.

1. Everything was working fine. No changes.
2. Suddenly SSL connections hang.
3. Restarting OID allows SSL connections to work for about a minute, then they hang from then on.
4. Nonssl connections continue to work throughout.


If a ldapbind is used against the port <OID_SSL_PORT> then the command hangs:

$ORACLE_HOME/bin/ldapbind -h <OID_HOSTNAME> -p <OID_SSL_PORT> -U 1

Note: This can happen with other SSL modes too.


Due to this issue, the DIP server cannot be started and the synchronization cannot work.

DIP 12c diagnostic logs can include the following errors:

OID 12c restarts periodically without warning.

oidldapd can take 100% cpu.
