On Oracle Enterprise Metadata Management (OEMM) 18.104.22.168, performing the action to "Highlight Path" on columns resulting from "Data Impact" analysis will highlight many columns that are not part of the lineage.
The following steps were done to observe the behavior:
.) Go to metadata explorer
.) Search for and object (the screenshot below uses "SCM_RMI_INVENTORY_SNAPSHOT" as example)
.) On the section "RDBMS Relational Database (Database)" select the object that will be analyzed (screenshot shows "SCM_RMI_INVENTORY_SNAPSHOT from P_DW_CMIEDWP_EDW > EDWBAS" as example)
.) Click on the "Trace Data Impact" icon.
.) Then, click in the "Graph" presentation
.) Expand the left side object (screenshot below presented by "SCM_RMI_INVENTORY_SNAPSHOT").
.) Right click on the "GLOBAL_EXCHANGE_RATE" column (for instance), then select "Highlight Path"
.) Multiple columns will be highlighted as showed in the screenshot below.
