ODI Markers 'obj_stat_#.gif' Cause Project Node Text To Disappear on Linux (Doc ID 2265655.1)

Symptoms

When attaching a Marker to a Project in Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) Studio 12.2.1.2.6 and higher on Linux, the entire node string becomes blank and the Markers do not show. The markers were added by right-clicking on the Project and selecting Add Marker.

It is expected that adding a Marker would not cause the node string to disappear. Adding Markers to projects in ODI 12.2.1.2.6 and higher on Windows does not have this problem.
