Purpose

This document outlines changes to our offerings in API Management, specifically the disposition of Oracle API Gateway, Oracle API Manager, Oracle API Manager Cloud Service, Oracle API Catalog and Oracle Enterprise Repository. Our strategic path forward for a complete API Management Life Cycle will be the Oracle API Platform Cloud Service.

Introduction

APIs are quickly becoming strategic for the enterprise. Oracle has had solutions for many years around services governance and API Management. As companies invest in APIs, the need for a comprehensive API management platform that provides support for the complete life cycle from concept to retirement is needed. To meet this need, Oracle is delivering the Oracle API Platform Cloud Service.

Disposition of Legacy Products

The following products are no longer being sold by Oracle or are on Controlled Availability:

» Oracle API Gateway (OAG): Removed from the price list (https://www.oracle.com/us/corporate/pricing/technology-price-list-070617.pdf) on 31-March-2017. All existing licenses sold on or before 31-March-2017 will continue to follow the Oracle Lifetime Support Policy (https://www.oracle.com/us/support/lifetime-support/index.html)

» Oracle API Manager: The terminal release of this product is 12.1.3. It is on “controlled availability.” Sales must be approved by Product Management. All existing licenses will continue to follow the Oracle Lifetime Support Policy (https://www.oracle.com/us/support/lifetime-support/index.html)

» Oracle API Manager Cloud Service: The terminal release of this product is 12.1.3. It will be removed from offerings once Oracle API Platform Cloud Service becomes available on the Oracle Cloud. All existing licenses will continue to follow the Oracle Lifetime Support Policy (https://www.oracle.com/us/support/lifetime-support/index.html)

» Oracle API Catalog: The terminal release of this product is 12.1.3. It is on “controlled availability.” Sales must be approved by Product Management. All existing licenses will continue to follow the Oracle Lifetime Support Policy (https://www.oracle.com/us/support/lifetime-support/index.html)

» Oracle Enterprise Repository: The terminal release of this product is 12.1.3. It is on “controlled availability.” Sales must be approved by Product Management. All existing licenses will continue to follow the Oracle Lifetime Support Policy (https://www.oracle.com/us/support/lifetime-support/index.html)

Oracle API Platform Cloud Service is the strategic path forward for supporting the complete API Life Cycle.
