Symptoms

In Exalogic Physical rack with Link Aggregation setup on IB switches for EOIB network, After upgrading the NM2-GW switch firmware to 2.2.4-3 as part of April 2017 PSU upgrade , There are no vNics on the switches and EOIB connectivity to the compute nodes is lost. At the time of the issue, SSH and Pings to Compute Nodes does not work over EOIB network.

On Compute nodes we will see that the EOIB bond interface will have all zeroes for MAC address and  ethxxx_1.abc interfaces will be not seen in ifconfig output on compute nodes

Note that this is not specific to upgrading the firmware version to 2.2.4-3. This can happen on previous IB firmware versions as well.
