How to Configure / Run Oracle REST Data Services 3.0 and APEX in Standalone Mode (Doc ID 2288698.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 04, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle REST Data Services - Version 3.0 and later
Oracle Application Express (formerly HTML DB) - Version 3.2.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Setting up Oracle REST Data Services requires two steps:

1. Configuration, which creates the configuration files needed to run ORDS.
2. Installation, which allows ORDS to run and be called from a front end web server: standalone / Jetty, WebLogic Server, Tomcat or Glassfish.

It is often helpful for trouble shooting to configure and run ORDS in standalone mode prior to deploying ORDS in WebLogic, Tomcat or Glassfish. This document describes how to configure and run ORDS in standalone mode.
