Exalogic Virtual: ecservices Upgrade Failing With "patch_el_echo_falcon_post.sh: No such file or directory" Error In Exapatch Logs (Doc ID 2293425.1)

Symptoms

In Exalogic Virtual racks, when attempting to apply Jan PSU 2017, the first patch update for ecservices failed to find patch_el_echo_falcon_post.sh while running ec_upgrade.sh. This issue is not specific to Jan 2017 PSU and can happen when applying other PSUs as well.

The following error is observed in the console:
