Symptoms

Successfully installed Oracle Internet Directory 11.1.1.9 as the user 'oidadm' with primary group 'oidadm' and secondary group 'apps'.
During the OID install the central inventory directory was created at: "/app/oracle/idm/product/Inventory" ('createCentralInventory.sh' as 'oidadm' user and selected 'apps' group for the inventory).

Attempting to install OAM as 'oamadm' with primary group 'oamadm' and secondary group 'apps' the 'createInventory.sh' script forces the selected group 'apps' to 'oamadm' and fails with the following errors:
