OUD 11g/12c - Deletes Taking Longer After Enabling Referential Integrity (RI) Constraint On Some DN Attributes (Doc ID 2296322.1)

Last updated on APRIL 30, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Unified Directory - Version 11.1.2.3.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When Referential Integrity (RI) using either manager or secretary attributes (or both), the delete performance is poor with delete times taking up to 6 seconds -

$time ldapdelete -x -h HOST -p PORT -D "cn=directory manager" -w '********' 'cn=testgrp1,ou=groups,dc=example,dc=com' -v
ldap_initialize( ldap://HOST:PORT )
deleting entry "cn=testgrp1,ou=groups,dc=example,dc=com"

real 0m6.918s
user 0m0.000s
sys 0m0.003s

Changes

Referential integrity checking enabled on DN attributes (manager, secretary) in OUD. The RI is working as expected but ever since RI was enabled, any DELETES on objects (any kind of identity including users or groups) is taking longer to complete.
