Only first message executes on non-interrupting boundary event

A process has a task with non-interrupting boundary event . If multiple messages are sent to the boundary event before instance
reaches the task then only the very first message is correlated and processed(when instance reaches the task).Rest of these
messages seems to be ignored. Is this expected behavior ?
