JDeveloper 12.2.1.2.0 "secretly" Changes BindingStyle In View Object (Doc ID 2302043.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 19, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle JDeveloper - Version 12.2.1.2.0 to 12.2.1.2.0 [Release 12c]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Using JDeveloper 12.2.1.2.0 changing binding value does NOT take effect in <ViewObject>.xml file when using the View Object Editor.
When navigating to the "Query" tab of the View Object Editor, the Binding Style gets changed from "Oracle Positional" to "Oracle Named", so it is easy for the developer to miss this unwanted change.
Reverting the Binding Style to "Oracle Positional" in the corresponding drop-down menu, does not actually change the value in the underlying XML file.
