Goal

This article will describe the steps to upgrade ODSM 11g to OUDSM 12c using the Reconfiguration Wizard (reconfig.sh for Unix / Linux, or reconfig.cmd for Windows) with an example and screen shots.

OUD / ODSM 11g can be upgraded by using the -

Option a. WLST script, which does not need a certified Oracle Database. The article below can be followed for this approach -

       Note: Using the WLST script to upgrade ODSM 11g to OUDSM 12c is the Oracle preferred approach.

Option b. Reconfiguration Wizard, for which a certified Oracle Database is Mandatory.

Note: OUDSM can be used to administer OUD Standalone and/or OUD Collocated Instances. Collocated OUD Instances are OUD instances installed within a WLS domain. OUDSM does not have to reside on the same host as the OUD Instances.
