Java.lang.OutOfMemory Using weblogic.security.providers.authentication.EmbeddedLDAPAtnDelegate (Doc ID 2305172.1)

Symptoms

While running WebLogic Server 12.1.2.0.0 version, server ran out of heap memory and gave the exception:

Java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead limit exceeded.

This error may be an indirect consequence of the problem. Obtaining a memory dump (e.g. using Eclipse) shows a potential leak in EmbeddedLDAPAtnDelegate. In the below screenshot, we see an exponential increment in com.bea.common.security.utils.OrderedHashMap$Entry objects:
