(Doc ID 2305185.1)

Applies to:
Oracle Unified Directory - Version 12.2.1.3 and later Information in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
This document goes over steps to install OUD and OUDSM in a WLS domain.
In Oracle Unified Directory (OUD) 12c, the Oracle Fusion Middleware (FMW) Infrastructure software is required to install the web administration interface, Oracle Unified Directory Services Manager (OUDSM). In 12c, OUDSM replaces the OUD 11g web administration interface, Oracle Directory Services Manager (ODSM). An OUDSM install does not require an OUD Instance. OUDSM can be installed on a separate host from OUD instances. OUDSM is used to administer OUD instances installed within a domain and can also be used to administer OUD Standalone instances.
After installing the FMW Infrastructure software, OUD 12c software is installed and OUD 12c can be configured with OUDSM in a single WebLogic Server (WLS) domain or in separate WLS domains.
After installing OUD in a WLS domain, to create an OUD instance within a WLS domain, refer to this KM doc - OUD 12c - How to Create a Directory Server Instance or Proxy Server Instance Using WLST / How to Start the OUD Instance / How to Start WLS to Use OUDSM (Doc ID 2298807.1)
To create an OUD Standalone instance (not in a WLS domain) - OUD 12c - How to Download and Install OUD 12c in Standalone Mode (with No Domain Configuration) (Doc ID 2298379.1) For Standalone Installations Only - How to Create an OUD Instance (11g / 12c) (Doc ID 2325052.1)
