"ODI-1441: Unable to connect to the master repository" Error Received when Starting ODI Agent after Master Repository User Password Change

Changing the Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) Master repository user password causes the ODI agents to fail on startup with the following message:
2017-09-08 10:20:39.306 ERROR ODI-1131 Agent <AGENT_NAME> encountered an error: ODI-1400: Agent <AGENT_NAME> start failure: JDBC connection error occurs while connecting to the master repository. Caused by: ODI-1441: Unable to connect to the master repository at JBDC URL=jdbc:oracle:thin:@//<JDBCConnectString with USER=<USER>>. 2017-09-08 10:20:39.308 ERROR ODI-1441: Unable to connect to the master repository at JBDC URL=jdbc:oracle:thin:@//<JDBCConnectString with USER=<USER>>.
The master repository password in ODI Studio was changed.
